ABB’s medium voltage full power converters are designed for large turbines with a low number of components, high availability and low loss. The higher voltage level of the medium-voltage inverter means that the current in the electrical drive system is lower and it is easier to integrate the inverter into the turbine. These converters can be designed for cabin or tower mounting, and their modularity allows for easy customization to meet customer requirements. In addition, fault crossing and grid code compliance capabilities are provided.
