The VMIVME-3112 scanning 12 bit analog-to-digital converter module has multiple operating modes, including automatic scanning, random polling, scanning polling, and scanning interrupt. It also has programmable interval timers, external triggers, programmable gain amplifiers, and conversion/scan end interrupts

The General Electric Fanuc/VMIC VMIACC-5594 Fiber Optic Node Automatic Bypass Switch Hub Assembly is a 19 inch rack mounted enclosure designed to automatically bypass up to five nodes in a fiber optic reflective memory network without signal loss. These nodes represent any member of the MIxxxx-5579 reflective memory series. It aims to allow all running network storage to remain functional on the active network and automatically maintain the integrity of the entire network, regardless of the loss of one or more connected reflective storage nodes or their fiber optic signal transmission. Due to each VMIACC-5594 regenerating its fiber optic signal at each fiber optic connection, it does not cause measurable signal attenuation to the network, allowing for the operation of all 256 nodes allowed by VMIxxxx-5579. Continuous monitoring of signal integrity from each connected reflective memory node to detect loss of signal transmission capability. If any bypass condition occurs, the specific node is automatically bypassed until the bypass condition is corrected, at which point the subject node is automatically reconnected to the network.

The IDE hard drive is optional. Jumpers are used to configure any device as an IDE host or slave. This makes VMIVME-7459 flexible in applications as it can be used as a read-only optical module or a read-only hard disk module in conjunction with other storage modules of GE Fanuc. For example, fully populated VMIVME-7459 can be used with VMIVME-7452 modules that only have floppy disks.
