VMIVME-2120 can provide 64 channels of high voltage and/or high current absorption output. The VMIVME-2120 collector open circuit output driver can support output voltages ranging from 5 VDC to 48 VDC. A unique feature of the VMIVME-2120 board is the built-in testing (BIT) logic, which allows users to verify the operation of each channel under software control.

VMIC VMIVME-6016 is a single slot, 16 channel serial port controller with dedicated onboard ring buffers for each channel (bidirectional), as well as a onboard 25 MHz zero wait state 68020 microprocessor. The VMEbus interface of VMIVME-6016 is controlled by the VIC068 VMEbus interface controller and enables jumpers to perform system controller functions. The 68020 microprocessor processes all character data input/output and buffering, so the host driver overhead is kept to a minimum. The user buffer can be configured as a ring buffer or a linear buffer, or can be configured to reside on or off the board of the VMEbus global memory.
