Fault-tolerant control
Fault-tolerant control systems identify and compensate for failures of control system components and allow them to be repaired without interruption of process control while continuing to complete specified tasks. That is, the Tricon control system is able to repair system failures without affecting normal production. It has the following characteristics:
High security – a/depending on the TMR hardware architecture, self-diagnosis and high availability for online maintenance – eliminates false stops
High maintenance – online replacement of faulty card parts, no need to stop,
No training is required for maintenance operations

1. No single point of failure
Using isolation technology:
Diced bean
The triple circuits inside each channel are independent; Triple redundant main processor;
Each component box is equipped with two redundant power sources (redundant power sources with equal load); Within the I/O component, there are no shared parts;
Complete isolation between channels (to avoid problems caused by grounding of field instruments); Isolation between the system and the site (to avoid the breakdown of the whole system due to the breakdown of a single module by strong electricity);

2. Online maintenance
— Faulty hardware can be replaced online, demonstrating the high availability of Tricon systems.
3. Online Diagnosis (self-diagnosis)
— Catch systemic dangers before they occur.
The self-diagnosis function is built into Tricon hardware and does not require users to write applications. It is the difference between long-term reliability and availability and short-term reliability and availability. It is also the technical advantage that distinguishes Tricon TMR system from other PLCS.
