IC693APU301 is an axis positioning module (APM) in the 90-30 series programmable logic controllers (PLCs), previously produced by GE Fanuc Automation and currently under Emerson Automation. This module comes with single axis control for achieving motion and position control of servo motors, and can be configured in both standard and slave modes.
When IC693APU301 is configured in standard mode, this APM module combines the PLC logic and high-performance motion control of IC693APU301 to create a single integrated system. It also supports slave mode, where the APU provides high-performance electronic transmission for both continuous master and slave applications.
This module comes with one (1) 9-pin D-shell axis port connector and one (1) high-density port for APM connection. It also has LED status indicators such as STST EN1, EN2, OK, and CFG LEDs. This module is compatible with various CPUs, such as CPU 311, CPU 313, and CPU 323, with a maximum of three (3) APM modules installed. When used with CPU 331 and higher versions, up to eight (8) APM modules can be installed, with a maximum of three (3) APM module instances per substrate.

The GE Fanuc IC693APU301 axis positioning module or APM is a single axis motion control module manufactured for the 90-30 series PLC or programmable logic controller. It is easy to use and is a fully programmable module that allows users to integrate high-performance control into their PLC systems. The IC693APU301 axis positioning module can be set to operate in either follow-up mode or standard mode. The follow-up mode provides electronic transmission devices for continuous applications. When used with the 90-30 series PLC, this module operates as a combined motion control component. The APM motion programmer software package can generate and store up to 10 motion programs. It has a high-density connector that includes one connector for Axis 1 and another connector for universal connections. These high-density connectors are connected to the drive using a short cable with a 24 pin I/O connector. This APM contains logic to compare the actual position of the axis with the programmed or command position. The IC693APU301 axis positioning module provides a real-time interface between PLC and servo control axes.
