1756-L73S is an Allen Bradley GuardLogix 5570 programmable automation controller (PAC). This controller has the ability to execute standards and safety functions. The standard functions are executed by the controller itself, while the safety functions are separately conveyed to the paired controller with catalog number 1756-L7SP. The main controller needs to enable the security features of the GuardLogix controller and must be installed in the available slot next to the 1756-L73S. The 1756-L73S comes with 8 MB of standard user memory, 4MB of secure memory, and 0.98 MB of I/O memory. It is equipped with a 1756-SD1 Secure Digital (SD) card, with a memory size of up to 1 GB of non-volatile memory. The embedded communication port of 1756-L71S is a single USB communication port, which can only be used for programming, hardware configuration, and online editing, and cannot be used for industrial communication. With embedded storage capabilities, the 1756-L73S supports up to 128000 discrete I/O points and 4000 analog I/O points. The 1756-L73S is an environmentally friendly processor because it is equipped with a 1756-ESMCAP capacitive energy storage module, which is detachable and pre installed in each controller. It can be replaced by 1756-ESMNSE or 1756-ESMNRM. All these energy storage modules are based on capacitors and do not require lithium batteries. When used with appropriate matching controllers, the 1756-L73S has passed SIL 3 and PLe certification and is compatible with similar safety level applications. Standard controller functions can be programmed using relay ladder logic (RLL), structured text, functional block diagrams, and sequential function diagrams (SFC), while for safety tasks, only relay ladder logic is allowed.
