Adaptive I/O modules like this can work together with a long string of communication adapters that provide interfaces, connecting the I/O base to various open communication networks that comply with industry standards. The following communication adapters are available for 170ADI35000 I/O modules: ControlNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet, FIPI/O, InterBus, Modbus Plus (IEC or 984 data format), and Profibus DP.
In addition to communication adapters, this series of I/O modules are also compatible with a large number of processor adapters or programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
